motor acted like it was starving for fuel above 2/3 throttle, but everything else fine, going to have to lower motor 1 inch.

trolling motor worked fine on it, and it was windy. it's only a motorguide WP 45, wireless.

Re: after pics, maiden voyage

Congratulations on the first run! :D Glad to hear that all went well.

It really cleaned up well, nice work.

Man I forget just how beautiful it is in Florida, deep blue water, crystal blue sky's, trees that are still green and will probably being staying that way.

I'll think about you as I set in my little inflatable, freezing my #$$ off, cruising past the scenic industrial parks here. :(

Cheers and happy boating,
ST

P.S. why do you think it was starving for fuel?

you know that is Florida for you, it was heavy overcast, all morning, and then within and hour it was beautiful.

Life in the south. Sure do miss it. :(

The daily morning rains, followed by afternoon sunny skies. Sort of natures way of washing away all that would dirty, the local beauty.

Looks nice TD, love the flamingo.

Is that just decoration or a decoy?

WOW TD that water sure is pretty & BLUE huh? :) Sure wish I was there with my boat having FUN. It's COLD up here in VA & this morning it was 43 degrees. brrrrrrrrr

BTW what size is your pontoon? Mine is a 20 ft Riviera Crusier. The tubes actually measure 19'2" but it's listed as being 20ft on the title. My deck is 8X16 with 2 ft of that being the very front of the boat so I can put some fishing chairs in that area along with a trolling motor. I'll be doing the restore this winter if it isn't too awfully cold outside.

My tubes measure 19" & I'm uisng a 1987 Johnson with an aluminum 18 gallon tank plus a 6 gallon spare. Looking around for a good used trolling motor of at least 40-55# thrust. I'll be doing a compete redeck & new carpet this winter along with new helm & "some" new furniture.

How fast will it go? did you get the motor starvation issue resolved? I was going to get the same size tank that you have but after seeing this, I think I will go with a smaller tank. your trailer also looks same as mine. ( except shorter).
I was going to put a Loone on ours, call it the 'Looney-toon' but the wife vetoed. :D

At least you can still use yours, I'm going this weekend to put mine away. ( They said that F word in the forcast for next week)

Looks really good TD!
So will this one go up for sale or is it a keeper?

I have a 115 I-6 merc if you want a planter. (I ended up with a new(er) 60BF merc. and $1.5K more into the toon- But I should save that in gas money in no time  )

Seriously did you test out with a normal tank? ( I always wondered it the fuel hose size/tank vent can cause issues with running full out).

Re: after pics, maiden voyage

i think it is a keeper, the trolling motor does well on it. i can fish from it. thinking of getting an 7x7 dome tent, so i can camp on it. i have a small grill, and 2 burner propane stove. after getting 9 mpg towing it, i will have to camp. it will handle the social life quite well. also my knees are getting worse, so the flat deck is nice.

got it back from the dealer, carbs had wrong air jets in them for the altitude, took way more labor to find it than the parts to fix it.

That sounds nice. :) Always wanted one for this reason.

The water where we will (hopefully sometime in the near future) boat is getting harder, and harder to get to from the shore every year.

The only good coves now have no more access and beach camping has all but been banned, after complaints from the new home owners that have moved in in the last ten years. They don't own the beaches, but they think they do.

The next best thing to sleeping on the beach is to anchor a “toon” in the coves and camp on it. Besides I like being rocked to sleep.

Thats interesting about the jets TD,
Was that originally a Florida motor?

I would keep it too...great fishing and plenty of room to bring guests along.

Re: after pics, maiden voyage

thanks, Gary i have no idea where the motor came from. it was owned by a lady that divorced, but the husband got the boat, he knew nothing about it. never liked it, just got it to spite her. then his friend used it a so called mechanic. anyway a little money later it is fine.
