last night at 6:20 ish....my girl and i were sitting in front of my store in her car havin a smoke....(in the winter...the vehicles become the smoking lounge)

my truck is in front of the store, and my cube van is beside us....with a mercedes between us and the cube van......

we watch the owner of the mercedes walk across the parking lot, get into his car.....and back straight into my trailer hitch......whacked it pretty good too !

then he had to accellerate off the hitch...he was kinda hung up....when he went forward....he allmost hit my cube van....then he reversed and nailed my truck again !

we sat there in shock.......(my truck has dents on the bumper from jacknifing the big 28 foot trailers i drive....so i knew he didnt hurt my truck)

we waited as he pulled out of sight....(blocked by my cube van) he stopped.....got out of his car....looked at my bumper and hitch......i was expecting him to put a card on the windsheild. but he just left !
we couldnt beleive it !
his mercedes was all banged up on the quarter panel....over a grand easy on that car....but he just left !

this guy workse in the office above my store......we laughed at him for being stupid....and i called the cops. (lots of reasons why in our province....especially insurance)

i cant beleive he rammed me twice......and left !

today i

Re: some drivers

So, what did the cops do ... since you know the hit and run driver ... has he been arrested?

That hilarious. Did he not notice people sitting in a car next to him? Did he expect to quit his job and never return to the scene of the accident?

That's a very special person driving that Mercedes.

Actually the Buick is my wife's car. 2002 Regal. I love the car but understand the 'image'.

To be honest, I noticed most seniors over the years drove a Buick. So when it came time to buy a new car, I test drove one.

I guess its true that with age comes wisdom because its a well built car, very comfortable and very reliable. But I get teased by the guys for that all the time. (Bought it when I was 30)

the cops havent done anything yet. i called them again today. the guy came to work as uasual, big honken scratch/dent in his bumper. the insurance company asked me to get a police file number, so i called to give them the guys plate number. the dispatch operator was really good, she knew i didnt want to get the guy in trouble....but instead, clear my name if he goes to the insurance coampay and lies, saying that a truck like mine hit him.

That hilarious. Did he not notice people sitting in a car next to him? Did he expect to quit his job and never return to the scene of the accident?

he is an older ....very distinguished looking gentelman.....however....i cant for the life of me understand how, this happenend???
he certainly was oblivious to us.

before getting in his car, he walked past my truck, right beside us..(sitting in the car .....we could have reached out and touched him !!!!) he actually walked across the parking lot. that means he saw the best way to back out.
the way he chose, was a three point turn. a lot of back and fourth. if he would have backed out the other way, he would have just drove straight away. but instead he chose the fred flintstone method of getting out of a parking spot

i can only assume he was really distracted by somthing....(but his face didnt look it)

You say you dont want to get the guy in trouble, but wont he get arrested for hit and run when the police come to take the report? Here in the US if you hit and run like that its not something that you can say you want to press charges or not press charges. Its just like they just follow procedure. If he did damage to your vehicle or his vehicle in a accident and just left then that is a charge. Not sure if its a felony because it would depend on the amount of damage. I think the guy should be at least arrested for hit and run. Maybe not jailed but arrested and fined. Just my opinion but i do not know the laws in Canada. So i don't really know what its all aboot, Eh. EH?

Re: some drivers

I've had people back into my truck while I was sitting in it and then leave as though nothing happened. 1 day in particular I had 3 different people back into me. All in school parking lots. My tech school, my younger son's jr high and then my older son's high school.

Re: some drivers

He might of been angry and or drunk, maybe he had something stashed back in his office could of been drugs.

My father messed up the front bumper on my 2006 F'150 a good while back when he ran my truck straight off into a ditch, had to have my uncle (who was there) pull us out with his big ford tractor. You could barely tell that the bumper wasn't spaced like it should be from the front fender. Anyhow dad had a friend of his/church member fix the bumper, but when backing out of the friend's driveway my father managed to roll forward right into this man's central air conditioning unit, which put the bumper right back to where it was . I can sort of laugh about it now even though the bumper still isn't right, good thing he didn't half to pay for the "fix".

I can't say to much, I had a wreck in my 2003 Ford Ranger Edge (one of my x-trucks), only had to have a new bumper put on the truck right which I really didn't half to have that done because it only put a dent in the bumper. The air bags did deploy. Well I took the truck with the new bumper and went right up against a steep dirt pile which scrapped the new front bumper.

Re: some drivers

I was sitting on my trucks tailgate at a NY Giants Tailgate party in the parking lot at the Meadowlands when all of a sudden the truck shook once pretty good, but no "BANG". Looked up front and a Corolla was pressed up on my front passenger tire and rim. They attemted to back up and drive away. When I confronted them, they denied it. I had them look at my tire and rim damage when a few guys from a few spaces down came over and said they saw the whole thing. They confessed but had no insurance. Cop took info but said I'm screwed. 2 tires (4WD) and one rim = $590. Deductable=$500. Day off of work for small claims + fees+ travel to New Jersey court = appx $500. Liklihood of getting anything out of the offenders= 0. I just paid for the tires and rim and chalked it up to yet another poor life experience.
