I've recently purchased a V-4 and am preparing it for test run.
The lid of the intake air box on the carbs is missing, and I intend to make one myself; so I wonder if I could find out the depth of the lid.
I guess it is shaped like a basin.
If I find out the depth and the location of the bores with rubber plugs on it, I could work it out, and have something better than nothing.

Thanks, but I can't get anything from the USA; Ilive very far away.
By the way there is a valve like the ones on tires for pumping, on the choke,
what is it for, do you pump it and at what pressure?

That valve is used to run a cleaner called engine tuner through the engine to clean out carbon. It is also used to fog the motor for prolonged storage. Do not pump air into it.

Yes the valve is used to fog your engine, just buy fogger at your local dealer and fog your engine till it dies, it does a good job before storage, no need to remove the spark plugs and fog from there. I've done it on my 90 horse Evinrude....works great!!

Thanks, I used to fog my engines through the carbs with spray while engine running till it dies.
That valve makes it easier- all four at the same time - good.
