Can't get the links or pictures to come up off of Photbucket. I tried to delete the post and it won't let me do that either. Sorry

well here's the link to Photobucket.

It's the two Wishing Wells. I have also completed all the woodwork in building a Lighthouse but don't have any pictures posted yet. It hasn't been painted or trimmed and I still have to wire the lights in it yet. I will post pictures when it's completed. It's seven ft tall and four stories

Just click on the link. I didn't have any patters so I just had to wing it. One is a little bigger than the other but not much. It took about a week for each wishing well and it's taken me about three weeks to build the Lighthouse. I don't have a digital Camera so as soon as I get the film developed I'll post the pictures and the link.

I have a woodshop...working on a table for the living room now.
As I look around, there is absolutely nothing without a pile of stuff on it so as to share some pics. I'll have to see what I can do about that.
I have made much furniture in the house. Tables, chests, bookshelves, picture frames, etc. The house itself has my handiwork throughout...trim, molding, doors, etc.

Thanks. Yes there is a lot of work there but I enjoy it. I don't have patterns or plans for them, I just measure the space and build something to fit.

That was the same with me for the two wishing wells. No plans just wing it. I did have a picture of one in a magazine that sells them but it was smooth sided and I didn't like that. The angles is always the hardest thing to figure out. I too have built cabinets and Book shelves before. I actually just completed the hardest thing I ever tried to build and again no plans. That is a seven foot high lighthouse. Four stories. I still have one more hole to drill for the wiring then paint it. I took pictures day before yesterday of it. I will take more after it's painted and trimmed and will post them on Flicker. I don't have a digital camera so I have to wait to finish the roll of film and then have them processed at Wal-Mart.

Those are all nice looking projects! Last year for Christmas I took my first stab at woodworking. I made a toilet paper holder for my mother-in-law. She loves lighthouses, so I engraved a lighthouse on the side of it w/ a dremel. I think it turned out well, although there is definitely room for improvement.

Here is a link to the album w/ the photos:

Nice and I like the idea of the place for extra rolls. good job. It's fun to make something out of wood. I've seen what crafters can do with welders, cutters and steel too. That always impressed me. I'm not creative but if I can see a picture even in a catalogue . I can usually build it out of wood. I'm too cheap to buy patterns. ;)

That toilet paper holder does look nice, now that you have started keep up the good work. :D The more you do the easier it gets and the better it looks, and believe me you do learn from your mistakes, some you cover up, some you start over.

Re: Winter Woodworking Projects 2009

Well, the wife has cleaned off a little bit. Still a few things I'm too lazy to deal with. These are shots of some inlays I've been doing on the living room furniture. There are 4 tables in the LR now - working on the fifth out in the shop now (maybe some more pics of work in progress later today). Everything is Butternut wrapped in Black Walnut. Inlays are mostly black walnut and mahogany.
The triangular table which I have some close ups of, are strips of various hardwoods glued up and then cut to shape. I love using contrasting woods.
The nautical inlays (mahogany) are a drawer front. We saw some crab handles that weren't for the this but weren't available when I finished the piece. ..still holding out. The oak leaf inlays are on a blanket chest. The wife picked the oak leaf idea. This took awhile! I found appropriate leaves and made templates out of cardboard for the patterns.
enjoy
