boat don't go faster then 5mph or so

i got a 120 mercrusier went boating last summer took it out of the water seen grease with water mix together on lower unit i took it to boat shop they drained the lower unit no water and pressure tested it and said everything was ok. so went boating the next weekend and then it happen felt like i hit bottom but did not in middle of lake can only go 5mph or so have not took it in yet should i be worried it was supposedd to be rebuild 6 years ago had it for 4 what could that be

If it revs up normally but doesn't push the boat except at low speed, you may have spun the hub in the prop, which is an inexpensive fix.

Just being in the middle of the lake doesn't mean anything you certainly could have hit bottom and sheared a prop pin or spun the hub.

Try putting a line thru the prop and the hub if it don't line up after 10 minutes when you look at it after running it, it's the prop pray it is.

Or try a prop that you know is good, same problem, coupler went.

If coupler went then it's pull the motor time. Thats why i said hope and pray it's the prop.

i don't think it rev up at all if i remember right it would cut out and die if i gave it to much gas

also their was a little water in the lower unit when i drained a little out for got to mention that

Sounds like you could have broke a U Joint if the prop checks out. Of course if it won't rev up out of gear. It's something worse. Let some of the Mechanical Whiz's like Don or TD jump in and advise you. Welcome aboard iboats. You have come to the right place for help.

Sounds like its N.F.G., (no f-ing good)! If you don't know boats, take to some one that does, don't try to f with it yourself unless your very mechanicly inclined, or have a lot of time. B-O-A-T; B-reak O-ut A-nother T-housand! BOAT, (noun): A hole in the water that one try's to fill with money.
