Good morning to everyone on a nice Sunday morning,
O.K. I have ordered a brand new complete water pump kit on-line this past week and should be here sometime this up coming week. My question is I own a 1983, 70 horsepower, model# J70ELCTE, Johnson outboard mounted on a 20 foot pontoon boat and was looking on-line at the web site below
to figure out how to disconnect the top of the shift shaft from underneath the bottom carb when I go to remove the lower leg unit to replace the water pump in the near future. On the web-site below do I remove bolt #70 or #26 under the crankcase and cylinder picture? Also, will I need to remove the bottom carb to get to it? How difficult is it to get to it and is there a trick to remove and replace it?
