I can only offer similar advice, 10000 lbs belongs behind a large tow vehicle. A solid 1 ton truck with duallies come to mind. I would look for a tow vehicle with a towing capacity of at least 12000 lbs. Better safe than sorry.

your profile is incomplete, it doesn't give a clue about where you will be towing, on the flats of Florida, hot, or in the hills and cooler up north.
don't forget a load leveling hitch.

Kindly fill in the location part of your profile

I don't really think that matters. A nasty ramp and you're done. And it's just over much for the vehicle generally.

Remember that your tow ratings does not include fuel, cargo, and passengers. You must subtract all that from your tow rating.

X 3 !!

add 4 people and all your gear and thats 11,000lbs......

A half ton is a lot to be over the max towing rating for anything. It may be one thing to tow it around the corner or across the yard but I'd say forget towing it on the freeway or anywhere you may have to stop or maintain a sustained highway speed.

Those things are based on the Nissan Titan, a buddy has a Titan and we used to to haul a friends 24' speed boat about 120 miles last fall. The boat was normally pulled by a 3/4 ton GMC diesel, but it was in the shop for service.
The Nissan did not tow that boat comfortably and the total boat and trailer weight was no more than 6500 lbs at best. (Probably far less than that).

The truck sat low in the rear, we couldn't put enough tension on the load equalizer bars to level it, it stopped the weight ok, not great but it did the job that way, it got no more than 7 mpg on the trip, and acceleration was slow to say the least. I really thought the truck was going to break, it felt like we were towing ten times that weight.
I had towed that same boat, on its older trailer with my 1 ton Dodge van before and it did just fine. The trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes on both axles. The worst part of the tow was how much the boat pulled the Nissan around when the bow caught the wind, any speed over about 45 mph felt unsafe.

So with that experience in mind, I'd have to say forget pulling 10K with the Infinity. Find someone with a 3/4 ton truck or upgrade to a heavier tow vehicle.

I agree. Plus you will need an easy lift and a anti sway bar. When the trailer weighs more than the truck and the wind picks up or you are going down hill, the trailer dynamics will win.

A good 3/4 ton truck would be your best bet. An F-250, Chevy/GMC/Dodge 2500. No need for duallys. The modern 3/4 tons are rated for 15K+ lbs. The 09 F-150's can tow 11K+, but I wouldn't want to do it, and it's probably in the regular cab versionw/HD tow pckg, not the crew cab.

A 10K - 11K trailer will weigh more than any standard 3/4 or 1 ton truck as well. There is no way around it, your most likely going to be towing more weight than the vehicle being used to tow it. What would you suggest be done with a 10-11K trailer than?

Granted with that in mind I would try and keep it under the tow rating for the truck... and not use the Infinity in this scenario.

Lol, Semi trucks would be in a world of hurt if the truck had to weight as much as what they were towing! Any modern 3/4 ton truck is rated to tow pretty close to 15K lbs. The trailer should have 3 axles at that weight, and 2 or the 3 should have trailer brakes. Stopping the trailer shouldn't be too difficult if it has 4 wheel disc on the trailer as well as on the truck. It won't stop on a dime, but it will still be within limits, that QX45 would likely toast the tranny pretty quick.
