Hey whats up guys. I am new to boating and I am about to purchase a 1981 Glastron HVP 16' bass/ ski boat fiberglass with a Johnson 115 outboard ob her. Its got a solid trailer and the engine is immaculate. The few things the boat needs is simple and I can work with. My very few questions are
A: The steering linkage from the engine to the wheel needs replacing and I found it for around 150$ and it is an easy fix for me.
B: The body needs to be sanded down as it is over 28 years old but the hull is solid with minor wear. How much trouble will this be?

I am purchasing the boat, trailer with working lights and engine for a mere $500. I am military buying from military and what do I need to look out for? I am waiting for the title and thats about it. I want to get it for family fun and some simple fishing...any suggestions?

I am not sure if that is an oil injected, or not. I have read that there were problems with the early vro systems.

For the hull, post that question up in the boat restoration section, you will get good reponses there. My guess is that a good buffing may be all that is needed.

1981 is a premix motor, 50:1, not a VRO.
