I recently purchased an 1802WA after doing months of research.
The wife and I scuba dive and we were looking for the following:
1. Able to handle foul weather.
2. Open stern to suit up and store gear.
3. Cuddy cabin for sleeping.
After researching for 3 months, I tested my future Trophy and made the swap (traded my Bayliner). We've had the trophy out several times and it is a dream. The 115 Optimax is perfect for me. Good power (even loaded with gear) and yet I'm amazed and my fuel efficiency. On one trip, the wind and waves kicked up and it just cut right thru them.
Currently my boat is having a 2nd battery installed, VHF Radio and GPS/chart plotter combo.
As with all boats, there are minor items that I wish were changed and most have been addressed on this site. However, these items are minor and I knew them going into the purchase.
My main reason for this post is to say thanks to everyone. Your knowledge was extremely helpful in our decision. Before my test drive, I already felt as if I knew the ins and outs of this model. We are overjoyed to have a boat that meets our needs and also didn't break the bank.
Happy boating.
