Im guessing its just because its summer, people are traveling more. Demand goes up so does the price (so they have brain washed us :D )

Im just glad its not $4.00+ (but would rather pay 1.75 like it was just a few months ago)

Demand is up in China and India and other countries. And it's also increasing here in the US as well.

Demand for the US Dollar is low is why gas is going up. Plus a seasonal tick due to all the different blends mandated by EPA.

Gas is going up because of futures traders. It has nothing to do with supply and demand. It has to do with the perception of supply and demand.
If you
1. Took oil of the futures market.
2. Made anybody who purchaces futures actually take delivery of the oil and sell the oil, and not the futures contract.
3. Made the buy in for futures 50% and not 5%
You'd see a drastic reduction in prices. Demand right now is extremely low compared to 5 or 10 years ago.

It's time for everybody to start writing their senators and DEMAND they do something or else we won't SUPPLY them with votes.

That's how we got here right now. All that demand is up stuff is just b.s. I would love to see how much those poor folks in China and India is spending on gas now versus a couple months ago. Chrysler is really going to have to give away those new Rams.

Ahhhhhem . . . if I was somebody else this thread would be gone already . . . Keep it clean. Here are some suggested posts that will help keep this thread open:

"Hey, gas prices are higher, sure wish they weren't."

"I wish they checked my oil like they used to. Then I'd feel better."

"Yeah, sure glad I paid $17,000 for that new Etec cuz I might save $29.50 on fuel this season."

"Don't you love that our Gov't is going to start building cars? Paves the way for them to start regulating oil prices too. Cool!"

Oh . . . wait . . . that last one is the other kind, the kind that will result in this thread being locked. Sorry. My bad, stick with the first three examples . . .

Someone needs to tell that last part to Exxon-Mobil

Are you referring to the new Heavy Duties coming out this fall? I really want to get one of those, but I got a lot of sucking up to do first. . . The fiancee wants a new convertible first, I guess if I buy a bigger boat, I can tell her I have to buy a bigger truck to pull said bigger boat

Yeah JustJason has it right. Demand is way down. But oil is a product that sells itself at any price. We need it, they know it, and they drive the price up. Futures trading needs to be fixed.

A boat is the ultimate convertible.

No, I'm talking about all those 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton that sit on dealer lots collecting dust. People can't afford the monthly payment and the gas to drive them.
