Re: Mercruiser 135 AlphaOne Magnetic Pulse Generator
The Clymer manual I had and the online info didn't say anything about the removal of the pickup coil in the Delco EST distributor (2002 Mercruiser Alpha I, 135 HP). So I looked at the parts breakdown and decided that you have to remove the distributor to replace the coil. The pickup coil was included in the parts when I asked the dealer to give me all that I needed for a comprehensive tuneup. Seems like a lot of trouble for a tuneup. Just remember to replace the thin gasket between the bottom of the distributor housing and the block.
