So I cleaned my flame arrestor last night with carb cleaner, it worked great (thanks for the tip y'all). But when I went to tighten the nut, I tried to tighten it to 30 lbs, which is what the manual said to do - then the stud broke off in the nut! what gives?
Either a) the stud is old; b) the manual is wrong about the 30 lbs of torque; c) my torque wrench is wrong; or d) I don't know how to use either.
I thought it was getting too tight, and I should have trusted my gut instead of the manual.
Can anyone tell me a) what I did wrong? and b) where to buy another stud?
