After working on my $50-MFG,i've decided to buy a COMPLETE boat and fix that one next year.EVERY boat i look at is ROTTED TO DEATH!!!This Glassmaster is a one family boat since new,and was covered alot. The 60HP Sportfour has a spark problem,he was told it needs a stator(motor is CLEAN!)and i LOVE the style!.The transom has NO flex, and the floors are rigid. The glass on the floor is thin in spots and will need to be recovered(soon). It has a nice Holsclaw trailer and bimini top also.Needs some small tlc like steering cables ect...I can get this boat for $500- delivered(wanted $850).Are they decent?I can't find much info on them.

Great deal. It sure looks like a fun boat. Keep us updated on the cleanup and restore (doesn't look like it needs much restoring anyway).

Thanks!I plan to keep it very original, just give it a good cleaning/wax job. Then fix the spark problem. The serial number for the boat is 45355V.I was told it's a "65,but the original motor is a "64.If anybody could tell me the exact year of the boat that would be great.Even a model name would be nice too!

What size Ev is that? I have a '65 & '66 33 HP. Love them to death. If all you have to do is replace the stator in the motor, you can get your money back in my opinion just by selling the motor. Good Luck!

my 70 starcraft had the origional motor on it... that was a 69. remember the motors arent made for the boat, and there are usually many avalible for any given brand of boat, so the manufacturer/dealer put different motors. actually there was a thread last year sometime about a guy who bought a brand new boat from a dealer, and the motor was the previous years model. it could be origional.

i just saw a boat that looked IDENTICAL to that, but had a merc on the back of it. i said to my wife how much i liked it.

Thanks for the comments guys. The motor is a 1964 SPORTFOUR 60HP.I know a guy who is VERY good with these old V4's.He's going to look at the motor this week for me.I can't wait to get her going.I've always love the teardrop look. This will be my first boat to hit the water,my wife and 2 1/2 year old girl are excited as well.

A 64 Sportfour has traditional points/condensor/coil ignition, unless that one has a newer powerhead on it. I think they started going to solid-state ignitions in 67 or 68. No spark could be as simple as dirty points, or as complex as two bad/old coils. Keep posting the pix...that's a sweet looking rig. Haven't checked your MFG thread lately...how's that one coming along?

The MFG is going to be "covered" for a little while.I'm going to fix this one up first.
