Hey Vegas, catching up here. The Sleek is looking great.

I know you've already bought the white rims but let me dig around and find where I got my rims from. They are polished aluminum, look great, match the rims on my truck pretty close, and weren't that expensive.

Re: PROJECT ~ JEZABEL 23' Sleekcraft Executive ~ Turbo Restore ~ Tons of pics

Thanks Yall for all the great comments

on the speed thing, I am actually ticked that we couldnt get her all done in 4 weeks or less.....dang cold and cash killed it! plus having to work ($$) at times too! and working on the glastron so we could sell it off etc...
I really gotta get one of my nutty inventions going so we can retire early and work on projects 24/7 :D
======================================

I need to find our water noodles so I can pad up the bottom parts of the tarp support........still might add a bit to it too...that PVC I used is schedule 40 3/4" but still kinda flimsy....

THANKS EVERYONE for the kind support and fun camaraderie I've found on the forum!!!!!!!

I'm still planning on heading down there the last week in Jan.

If the wife or mother/father in law don't plan every minute for me we should be able to grab a beer.

I'm going to dump them off for about 2-3 hours at the premium outlets and will probably kill time on Fremont Street as it is nearby.

I'll let you know if my plan comes to fruition and we can grab a beer or two.

Just wanted to stop by and say hey. I am ready to see her on the water.

Also would you recommend the polyglow stuff?

yeah she aint ready between the holidays and lolly gagging (its fffffreeezin here 43degrees right now and colder at night YIKES)
we got about 4 more months of cool weather before boating season so things have slowed down to a snails pace!

So far the poli-glow has been awsome, still shiny on our boat...I recommend it!

Hi Bob and thanks!
yeah Harbor freight! the boat cover is somewhat waterproof, but not comepletely since it is old as dirt, so I tarp the back 1/2 of the boat where the cockpit is so water doent get in etc

Hi SYSTEM F and FRISCO,
yeah I really gotta get off me bum and get the 3 parts stripped and alodine coated, painted on the outdrive so I can re-assmble (2 outdrive access covers and the chrysler prop)
LAZY LAZY LAZY!

Nice to see you back at it again. You wouldn't happen to know any good photographers in the Vegas area would ya?

My brother mentioned possibly getting married in Vegas this summer/fall. I think I drummed up some business for you :)

Hi Vegas, I don't know about where you are but here in SLC there is a company(just a local outfit) that does major repair on trailers of all kinds. They have a machine in one of their bays that looks similar to an automotive frame straightner. It has rams all over the place with different attachments that can hook onto the trailer and bend them back into shape, also has lasers to align everything. My dunebuggy trailer 3-4 years back had some major axle issues I was going to buy a whole new unit as it was scrubbing one side tire off almost every trip i took. I took it to these trailer guys and they put it on the rack and aligned everything and it has been like new ever since. It cost around 40-50 bucks, don't know if your trailer could be "bent back into shape" but it may be possible or worth looking into. Does the bend create a high spot on the bunk where it contacts the boat? Well good luck hope it warms up there and here so we can get back to what we love....

Lol...Good deal! I'm all over it...:):D. I do a decent job, I'm not one of those 10k per day dudes either. Ive know a guy that does video in case its wanted/needed, he does a bang up job for the price.

you still taking a trip out this way? (Ive got a gig on the 29th of Jan)

=====================

Hi Utah....
wow what a deal you got on that....hmm....$50 here they kinda rake ya on bodywork and such...not sur eit would be that reasonable but ya never know!
thats a great idea either way...I was contemplating heating the metal and doing what I can but its thick and is u channel etc...might weaken the frame etc....

it doent appear to be putting pressure on the boat at the bunks too much....but I am sure it is...
when we get the boat water ready the plan is to overnight the boat at the lake mead marina for a few days and re-do fix up the trailer....once the boats off Ill really be able to check out the bunk alingment/heights and such.

thanks for the tip! I will definitely look into it locally!:D

Vegas,

I think the new rims look sharp! I've been replacing & repacking bearings too. Bummer about the bend, I would try heat, don't think it will cause too much weakness, you could always weld anextra gusset plate inside the c channel to add strength.

Hey Vegas, bummer about the trailer. If I was closer I would help you do a little work on it...I have gotten good at cutting parts off of trailer and replacing them :D Noting a torch, welder and a port a power can't fix! The wheels look great, I need to work on that pretty soon too. Have you check the spring to see if the bolt that holds the stack together in the middle is still there? It looks like it sheared off the way that leaf is off to the side. Keep up the good work, it was nice to see your update!

Some heat and gussetting would definately work.. Maybe not as pretty but definately functional.

PS. I send my brother the link for the wedding pics. I'm sure it's a done deal.
