We took our b-liner 2755 out for its maiden voyage after 3 years of sitting in a boat yard . It runs very good but we found an oil leak near the fuel pump. It only pushes out a little oil at high rpms ,the fuel pump and surrounding area (coolant hose..) get a small spray of oil. The engine oil is honey gold and I am sure we have no cracks. Can the gaskets be fatiuged from sitting dormant for 3 years?? Should I regasket the fuel pump. This is a 1990 5.7 mercruiser. Very low hours and in beatiful shape.

Yeah, could just be a bad gasket around the fuel pump.

Should I regasket the fuel pump.

Ayuh,... It might quit by simply Tightening it...
Or,...
It could be the oil pan is Rusted thru...

see the two holes in the pic one has a bolt in it(orange). directly behind the pump, front of block directly below the water pump mounting surface. i have had 2 blocks spray oil out of those holes at high rpm/load and seen others with it already plugged with the bolt as seen here or some people use the allen head plugs for a cleaner look . check those b4 you take the pump or pan apart.
