Hi, I got a 1973 searay srv220 weekender have exactly the same fuel tank and I pulled it out from the boat to check for any leak and cleaned it and I have to replace the rotten flooring ply that covers it , my question is do I have to apply adhesive glue around the edge of the plywood that covers the tank or can I just screw it for easier dismantling in the future thank you .

mrdjflores, has not been around for a couple of months so I'll step in and answer just in case he doesn't. If it were me I'd want to seal the seam with something. Either 3M 4200 Marine sealant which is semi permanent or mix up some Polyester resin with some cabosil to thicken it to the consistency of mayonaise. I would not want there to be a void that would allow water from the deck to flow down below. Hopefully it will be YEARS before there's a need to go below deck again.

Yeah, I've thought about that too! If I took this long to fix a system at work...I'd get fired!!!! It's been 2 months and they can't figure out posting issues to a web hosted data base!!! Hmmmm??????

almost 5 years since i've started this project....don't think i've really done anything to the old girl all year....everytime i think about doing some more work on her, i begin to think how much of a pain it is to just climb up inside her...

I don't mind helping. I was thinking do you still have the old tank,and was the new tank going to be the same dimensions. We could get together to get the wood cut and temporaly fit it in place. Then if the cold hits everything is ready for spring. I'll be working on my trailer this week, but nearly all weekends are free except this weekend (at brothers helping) and any holidays. Up north on weekdays down in Louisville on weekends.

:boink: Drove by and checked on the boat :thumb:. Paint still looks good. Need to get together to do some grinding :hungry:. Cold weather is best for that. We could finish the grind and then start measuring wood.

Have you thought on having your seating a movable seat like on some of the newer SeaRay. Along both sides of the engine cover with the top also on level and covered. Down low as a seat or moved up for the bed section.

I have some thoughts in mind, going to be a U shape seating arrangement, but the sides seats will fold down out of the way when it's fishing time
