In the AFC I have to go with the Colts.I don't think the Jets have enough "magic" to overcome the consistency and balance of the Colts' offense and/or defense.

The "experts" show the NFC as either/or.Both teams have explosive offenses with stiff defenses.I have to go with the Vikings and hope the right team shows up plus they haven't played well after dark.

The Jets had a nice run but I can't see them keeping up with the Colts.

The Vikings are my team so...Wish we were playing at home though. If the "D" plays like last week, the crowd will be quiet and #4 will be headed for Miami!!

Colts and Saints.

I'd LOVE to see the Jets beat the Colts though, especially since the Colts laid down and opened the backdoor for the Jets to get it. That would be poetic justice.

I am impressed with the Jets but the Colts continue to look the best.
Brett has a plan to go out as a Champ, Keep an eye on those Vikes!

One game cannot tell you which is the better team, but it can tell you who is having a better day.

It was the same Cowboys who humiliated the Saints and Eagles that were clobbered by the Pack.EEK!! I mean Vikes. Can't think of Favre without thinking Pack.

The teams that have a better day will prevail. I expect that to be the Saints and Colts, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Saints-Colts

Yeah, I don't think the Jets are going to get past the Colts. I think the AFL game will be the less exciting of the two championship games because I'm guessing Manning & the Colts will have the lead and control of the game by the end of the first quarter.

Saints and Vikes game on the other hand, I have no idea how that one will turn out. I'm thinking it's going to be a high scorin' shootout type game. I'm going to be rooting for the Vikes (sorry Jay). I want to see Brett take that show to the Superbowl! But my gut tells me the Saints are going to win.

Now after saying all that, watch the Jets blow out the Colts and the Vikings beat the Saints 10-3

If the defense has a good game, the offense should follow. The game will be won on both sides of the front line. Brett needs protection and the defensive needs to pressure Drew. If they do that, my Vikes have a great chance.............. C'mon Vikes, Git 'er Done!!!!:)

Re: NFL Championship Games Picks

Prior to my wedding day, I wouldn't think twice about wagering half a paycheck each week on NFL games. Loved the action and spent most of the time on the upside enjoying the spoils. Never wanted to explain to Mrs Angus why we couldn't make rent in January, so I gave up betting when the ring slipped on the finger many moons ago.

If I were still a wagering type, I would have my money on the home teams (Saints and Colts). My "matchup gut" thinks that way too. My heart wants to see the Jets take on Favre so the sports radio around here will be outrageous for the next few weeks and my Jet friends experience the thrill.

Alright, ignoring my brain and going with my heart (sounds like my wedding day again!!!), Jets and Vikes!!

Even the Jets head coach admitted they're going to loose. He said and I quote "I don't think it will be a blow out but c'mon, you're playing the Colts". I think Vikes will win NFC.

Being a life long minnesota sport fan I have to pick the Saints..

Now I think the Vikings have a definite fighting chance of winning, I cannot pick Mn because then I know I will be let down. Our teams always get us real excited and then let us down hard..

I still have not fully recovered from the '98 letdown. That one hurt for years.

In all seriousness, the Vikes have a more talented and balanced team. They should win this.

I just can't say it.

Re: NFL Championship Games Picks

To me, the outcome of the Saints/Vikings matchup is hard to predict. Both teams have shown that they can "get it done," and both have shown that they can be beat. I don't really follow the Vikes all that closely, so I can't offer thoughts about specific players, but I will say that the issue of individual players has proven to be a big factor with the Saints.

Aside from the Carolina/Saints game that Sean Payton pretty much gave away for strategic reasons, we have seen what happens when the Saints don't have all of the "A" guys on the field. This week, Jeremy Shocky and Darren Sharper are in question, due to injuries. My guess is that both will play, but if they don't, the balance of the game could be altered significantly.

Obviously, I would like to see the Saints go to the SB and I'd like to see them win it, even more. That said, I'm happy with the performance of the team, as it is right now. The Saints have far exceeded anything that we have ever seen from them at any point in the history of the team. They won three of four pre-season games, thirteen of sixteen regular season games and have now won a playoff game. If you want to count all of the games, that makes them 17 -4, which is pretty damn good!

Best wishes to all of the Vikes fans - "see you" around the tube Sunday evening!

Re: NFL Championship Games Picks

Colts will beat the Jets . Jets had one hell of a run but the Colts are just to diverse on both sides of the ball for the Jets to shut them down or get the offense flowing.

Farve over Brees .. That is what it is going to come down to .. hard to beat Farve when he wants a win ... Vikings win a close one on the last drive .

Super Bowl ... Manning wants it more and has a little more youth on his side . Also Farve converted the Vikings from a running team to a passing team and pulled alot out of his "hat" during the season but the well runs dry . It will be close but I am thinking 24-20 Colts over Vikings.

I'll take the Vikes over the Saints because I expect (hope?) their defense to be in the backfield all game.
I don't think the Jets have enough experience to beat Indy.
Should be two good games and I like the SB matchup no matter which two it is.

Saints - Colts.

I'd like to see the Vikings win. Cannot underestimate the synergy generated by a man on a mission, Farve. But, the Saints are playing right on key.

Jets, who are they again? Colts all the way.

I'm a Hoosier so I have to root for the Colts. However, I'm also a Purdue grad and will root for Drew Brees.

Saints vs Colts in the Super Bowl with Manning winning his second ring.

OK, now I know the Saints will win .... Prince jinxed it for y'all with that lame song he wrote for the Vikings!

Man, I was going to come in here and say that Minnesota had a better song, when I heard that Prince had written one ... after all, how do you top Prince, when it comes to music? ... but .... well ... it "inhales!"
