Re: NFL Championship Games Picks

As Bobby Hebert (former Saints QB) says, blood is blood and Archie will be a Colts fan all the way.

One of the things that I have to say that I didn't like about the post game coverage, was when Garrett Hartley was ignored on the podium during the trophy presentation. He was standing there, waiting for his chance to hold it up, when the MC told Sharper to take it for a trip around the stadium. Imagine being 23 years old and your 26th kick in the NFL sends your team - a team that has never been there - to the Superbowl! I'm fine with Sharper taking the trophy for a ride, but Hartley should have been recognised and allowed to hold it up for a minute.

On the flip side, I'm very pleased that Deuce McAllister has been brought back into the organization and was recognised. #26 is a very beloved guy in New Orleans, both for his contributions as a player and for his character as a man.

WHO DAT?!!!!!!!!

How was your drive thru Colts land TilliamWe? were the highways deserted?

Drive was fine. No they were not deserted! It was the most traffic I have EVER seen in Indy at 8:00pm on a Sunday! Less than there was at 2:30pm on Friday, but WAY more than there is usually at 5pm on Sundays!

Congrats to the Saints, welcome to your 1st SB!

Brett sure has made some bonehead moves in his career...

Which bonehead move are you referring too? There was no doubt who was the better team. If the Vikings would have held onto the ball they would have stomped the Saints probably by at least 28 points. Either the Saints were having a bad day or they really are not a very good football team. I dont know if you saw what Favre looked like after that game but I dont know how you can call that man a bonehead.

Re: NFL Championship Games Picks

The Saints have played 22 football games this season, including the preseason games. They won 18 of those games. Of the 4 lost games, at least one was a complete give-a-way for strategic reasons. Is this the record of a team that isn't very good? Did they just get lucky 18 times?

As for Sunday, there is only one "stat" that makes any difference - that's the one that says "31 - 28." The Vikes lost. I'll say it again, they lost. They failed to control their opponent and allowed them to score more times for more points. You can look at stats any way you want. You say the Saints were bad because they had lower number "this stat or that stat." I say they they are a better team because they did more with less and forced their opponent to make mistakes.

To be frank, I'm getting annoyed with the legions of people and members of the press, who seem hell bent on taking away from the great effort that the New Orleans Saints made this year. Sure, there are always discussions about who "should have won," but this seems to be quite a bit more than the norm.

The bottom line is that the Saints and the Colts are going to Miami and no one else is - end of story.

I agree Jay. The Steelers beat the Viking when the Vikes couldn't hold on to the ball. Others say the Vikes are better than the Steelers, well, neither one is in the Super Bowl, are they? Winning the Super Bowl is all that matters. And it doesn't matter what it looks like getting there, or even winning it. Saints won the game, Vikes didn't. Case closed, game over. Favre retired. It happens every year! ;)

Throwing that pick, against the grain???? I mean, they teach you not to do that in Pop Warner ball, but he thinks he is above all that and because he is the amazing Favre, that he can get away with it. NOT. Probably why he holds the NFL record for throwing INTs.

I can call the guy a bonehead easily, it;s my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

... Favre retired. It happens every year! ;)

LOL! Yup, he's already waffling on whether or not he'll call it quits.

The funny thing about this situation is that people apparantly think we have it out for Brett Favre, because he's been playing "up north" for all these years. Brett Favre grew up in Kiln Mississippi, which is about 60 miles from New Orleans. He's a "local boy." We even know how to pronounce his name (far-ve, not fav-ruh), because its French and we have cajuns all over the place. The simple fact of the matter is that, if the Saints had not ended up in the playoffs this year and Minnesota had, you'd have seen a bunch of purple jerseys on Bourbon Street last Sunday.

I don't mind generic discussions about football rules and stats and all of that, but when it comes to suggesting that the Saints have somehow not earned their success this year, then I'm going to speak up. Its just baloney. They played hard, they won a lot of games and they ended up in the SB. Guess what else, the Vikes walked into Sunday's game with exactly the same record as the Saints; 3 - 1 in preseason, 13 - 3 in the regular season and 1 playoff win.

Since I have lived in "da bayou" for 20 years now and know more than three Boudreaux jokes, I am an "honorary coonass," so I'll I'll say it the coonass way ....

Eye-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Who Dat Say Dey Gonna Beat Dem Saints, Who Dat?????

Ummmm like this...............BONEHEAD BONEHEAD BONEHEAD!!!!!!

The man leads the league in interceptions!!!! He has one of the best, if not the best running backs in the game(Adrian Peterson) and he just barely got 100 yards......why?? Because Farve was too busy throwing passes. He isn't smart enough to know when to hang it up. He should have stayed retired the first time.

The Vikings CAN'T win a Superbowl. They've been there, what, 4 times and came away every time losers.

Saint and Colts..............Gonna be a good game!!!!

Hope the Colts win. I'm not necessarily a big Colts fan, but I am a Peyton fan. He was in the same class as my son at the U of T and still stays involved with the community here.

Okay Jethro here we go

The man leads the league in interceptions!!!

Well duh there are about ten other things he leads the league in like most career touchdown passes, most career passing yards, most career pass completions, most career pass attempts, most consecutive starts and most career victories as a starting QB

He has one of the best, if not the best running backs in the game(Adrian Peterson) and he just barely got 100 yards......why??

So why did the vikings pick up Favre? Because defenses were stacking and still are at least 8 or 9 in the box and have been shutting Peterson down. The vikings needed a QB that could pass because when they rely on a running back who could end his career with the most fumbles they either loose the ball or go 3 and out.

He isn't smart enough to know when to hang it up. He should have stayed retired the first time.

He threw for over 4000 yards and ranked #9 and out of those nine tied for the lowest interceptions with Aaron Rogers. Every time he plays he beats another record. That "bonehead" had a QB rating over 107. The entire NFL only had one QB with a higher rating and that was Brees who threw 4 more interceptions then Favre during the regular season.

The Vikings CAN'T win a Superbowl. They've been there, what, 4 times and came away every time losers.

At least they have been there has New Orleans? The Saints better do a much better job preparing for the the Colts then they did the Vikings or they will be very embarrassed when the Colts pick them apart.

Not to rain on anybody parade or anything but the Vikings pretty much beat themselve. You almost guaranteed yourself a loss with that many turnovers.

LOL, get over it, Favre is a washed up fool.

Why did you call itsaboattime Jethro, seems like a derogatory insult to me.

And the Saints defense had nothing to do with those turnovers? And the Saints didn't capitalize on them?

There's a reason they play the games for 60 minutes folks, you turn the ball over, you're not very good, that day.
