Went to my work shop to put new U joints in an aluminum drive shaft I picked up for my 98 Firebird.
After doing the U joints, I cleaned off some heavy coating of undercoat on one side of the shaft. Used steel wool and carb cleaner. When done, I noticed that side was shinier than the other. So I wet sanded the whole thing with 400 grit to remove residual scratches and give it an even finish. Hey, that looks nice..... Wonder what would happen if I put the power buffer to it for a few minutes..... Not too shaby. And the yoke is rusty, lets wire wheel that and paint with some rustolium......
I had no intention of polishing up the shaft. It just sort of happened. One thing leads to another.... Next thing you know, it looks like this:
Maybe the guy in the oil change pit will appreciate it!
