1996 OceanRunner 200 stalls when warm.

I have this problem with my OceanRunner 200 for several seasons now. Runs great except when I've been running it for a while shut it off and then try to start it.
It will start right up and stall once it comes off the quick start. I'll start again and it will stall again once it comes off the quick start. I'll do this three or four time untill it idles, it will then run perfect untill I shut it off again at which I'll have to run through the whole process again.
The idle setting is right on, I've checked all the hoses for air leaks and have found nothing. Checked the timing, changed the plugs. I'm wondering if maybe it's idle mixture, not sure what else it can be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Victor.

make sure the primer bulb check valve is working, it could be siphoning fuel off the carbs. especially if you tilt the motor when stopped.

in other words try pumping the system up before starting.

Replaced it along with all the fuel lines.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Recirc valves are clear and the plugs look good. Is it possible I need to do a lync and synch?

Thanks
Victor

I'm not familiar with that engine. How ever In the past on other engines with that symptom if not fixed jets open low speed jet 1/2 turn . If it helps, adjust till you get the sweet spot. You may also have to adjust your throttle stop a little to keep it going after adjusting. The hint is that it will run on fast idle.

The first thing you need to do is a link and sync. Cures most of the problems that have popped up on my motor over time.

What do you have the idle set at? I believe the manual says 650 rpm but I've never gotten my to idle reliably at anything less than 800 rpm.

FWIW: If I'm not mistaken the idle jets on that motor are fixed.

check your low speed timing, also make sure your linkage is set properly.

make sure you check your low speed timing after the fast idle has quit.

I checked the low speed timing and it's dead on.

The low speed idle is at 650 right now. Maybe it is as simple as turning it to 800.
I will do another sync.

Thank you.

The big 60deg loopers.
Early to late 1990's.
Looks exactly like my 1994 optical ignition...and he has the optical ig'.
Checked mine last year and it was way off, about 1/2 inch off.
That might be why I only get 5K rpm too, haven't tried it since.

650 idle sounds low to me, try it at 800

That explains why I've not seen that assembly on my motor. The optical was not used on the 200HP and up

I was wondering the same thing. I see the roller but, it doesn't look anything like that.
My roller is just barely off of the cam.
