First, thank you, our good friend, "R"

Yes one more small project, I'm in love, and fortunately the better half is smitten too.

33' hull 38' overall, Faro-cement fatty. "3 sheets to the wind mate, that's how she likes it", she's got lots of sails, what fun!

The price is right, we'll leave it at that. Need a little advice on the transfer of paperwork. (standard bill of sale and some kind of release of liability is my guess)
She's a documented vessel. (no more DMV stuff, all Federal)
I've never had to deal with this before.

She's a little rough around the edges, but this is a cake walk compared to the Theresa C. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=372676

Rode hard and put away wet, we all do it at some point. Glad I could receive this responsibility, benefit in the process (OMG) and be of service to a friend in need.

A win, win, win situation. We've been speechless, that's a first. Eery silance tonight, deep thought, wow, is this my life?

A look aft, below.

Going anti-clockwise, the captain's bunk in disarray for the new batteries, thanks "R" mighty nice and shinny!!!!

More later after I do a little pic sorting,

I guess this is a good time to change the sig.

Around here , for a documented vessel you go to the coast guard.
Take everything with you.

And could you give me a lift back to europe?

See that wasn't long, here are some more "before" pix.

Stay tuned, this is where the fun begins.

You know what the 2 best days in a boaters life? For me? the days after buying and much much more, the old saying does not apply in our case.
This craft has gone more places than I have.

Looks good. I've been reading lots of stories about transatlantic crossings, really has peaked my interest in sailboats.........then I get on Google Earth and look at how much blue stuff there is between all the dots of land. :D Good luck with your project.

Re: Meet Mea Nui

With a little help from the better half,

Mea Nui, Means "beloved", I call it smitten new horizons of knowledge.

I haven't sailed anything over 100Lbs. for 30+ years, though I have a fair number of hours at sea in all sorts of craft. we won't discuss the weather.

LCjeff

Still in a fog, imagine that in Monterey?

Jeff,

Nice boat.
I believe that heater on the outside head wall is a diesel fired heater for the cabin. They are prety common in sailboats. Good luck and enjoy.

I'll look closer, but I didn't see any diesel line going to it.

Perhaps it is a wood burner

At ant rate, I'll definitely need the tray that slides out of the bottom, stuck my thumb right through it.

Evicted a family of seagulls, then spent 3 hours cleaning up after them and I'm not done yet.

I still can't get over the fact that very hull was the one I saw upside-down in the old Monterey boat works back in the early 80's. At that point I had to ask,"a boat made of concrete and steel? WTF sounds like a sinker.

I witnessed the steel lay-up, through the mudding up, then it was gone!

I guess, good things happen to good people.
