While I was stationed in Missouri we did quite a bit of rabbit hunting...... the guy I hunted with had a Korean wife who ground up his game and made bunny burgers !!

Yes moose is great and so is venison too ;)

We take ground venison and add ground up bacon ends to it. It makes a very juicy and delicious burger.

I asked for a burger with everything on it (thinking lettuce, tomato, onion, etc) while living in NC, & they put coleslaw & chili on it. To date that was one the worst burgers I've ever had.

Top it off I was exhausted from a long day of moving & all wanted was cold beer only to find out I had moved to a dry county.

add ranch dressing and my daughter would eat it up.
of couse she would eat rocks covered in ranch.
gotta agree with the dry county thing.
found that out some years ago after driving 14 hours to Cleburne TX in Johnson county.
all I wanted was a cold beer only to find I just moved to a dry county.
had to become a member of southfork :).

Not the most unusual, but also from Man vs. Food-- a burger with the cheese molded into the middle of the raw patty before grilling, so the molten cheese oozes out when you take a bite. The MVF restaurant used American cheese on the show but I'd probably use a good apple smoked English cheddar or something.

THAT sounds pretty yummy. Got some ground vension in my freezer...was going to make chili with it but I think I just changed my mind ;)

Re: Most unusal/creative burger???

1 lb ground beef (93% fat free )
1/4 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
Dash of Soy Sauce
Dash of Teriyaki
Seasoning salt
Mix and let sit 20 min , Then make 3 burgers after you make snowballs out of the meat and pack them like a mad baseball pitcher. This gets rid of water, and some fat . Grill at very Hi temp . Add what you want once it hits the bun

That is nothing new.We were eating "Pizza Burgers" 30 years ago.The same deal with Mozzarella cheese with Spaghetti sauce instead of ketchup/catsup.

I have always liked a "Ham and Cheese Burger".A couple or three thin slices of ham and melted Swiss cheese on top.

If you like smoked meats try this.Find a shagbark or shellbark hickory tree, pull off as much bark as you can reach.break into small pieces 1 or 2", pliers can help as it is hard bark.soak in water 2 to 4 hours.when charcoal is ready drop 1 heaping double handfull on coals in a pile in the center, wait a few minutes for good smoke, add burgers in a circle around the pile.close the lid and open vent all or 1/2,It should smoke like crazy, that keeps the flames choked off. +/- 5 mins. turn cover, +/-5mins done or turn again,I like medrare.experiment w your taste as the smoke can be strong to some.top any way you please.burgers cook faster than normal and you can probly do 2 or 3 batches.Enjoy!

Gooberburgers. Just spread your favorite peanut butter on the meat patty as it comes off the grill. There is a place in central MO that has this as their specialty.

For the record, I would never, ever, try this.

Taco burgers. Mix a pack of your favorite taco seasoning with 2 lb. hamburger. Best pan fried or broiled.

Re: Most unusal/creative burger???

Back in the 60s I used to lunch regularly at a place in Bethesda, MD called "The Old Fox".

They served a burger called the "LondonBurger". A lump of sharp English cheddar in the middle of a 1/3lb extra lean beef patty, flame broiled and served on a toasted English Muffin. Back then, of course, it was still legal to serve beef rare, which is how I like it. Best burgers I remember.

I never wanted anything on it except maybe a bit of salt.

The worst burgers I ever had were so skinny you could read newsprint through them and loaded with pickles and every kind of salad and "special sauce" junk so that you couldn't taste the meat.

Re: Most unusal/creative burger???

I can only recommend what I said in an earlier post about different recipes. No matter how you like your burger, no matter how you like to cook it, no matter what you like on it...just add 1/4 cup of brown sugar to every pound of ground beef. Season and cook as usual. I personally like it BBQ'd but it's good any way it's cooked

You'll be amazed at the taste of it. At least everyone who has tried it so far loves it. Like the old saying "Try it you'll like it".
