really I meant those once rare and true stories of like new classic cars that were "owned by a little ol lady from Pasadena"

it used to be a sales pitch that it was a great low mileage, well taken care of car.

LOL Yeah I hear ya...nobody wants to buy a boat from a big, old dude in Ft. Myers that was rode hard and put away wet;):D

Ill be that way some dark night . Could you leave that boat on the street and let me know your address --LOL LOL . Best buy I have seen to date on the list. I will be bringing my find home from Lincoln City next week and might consider tradeing. LOL again Keep us posted as to what you need to do with your find. Don't tear out anything not needing it. Do not fix it till its broke. Always good advice..

The boat is actually in Seattle now at my dads house.. ( he has all the tools) Just for now, we are installing downriggers, rod holders, GPS/Fishfinder. We plan to use the heck out of it starting next month. Then more ideas will come on what we want to do with it next winter. Have a good trip down south!

That is the hope.

Question -
Has anyone ever converted a Holiday into a open bow boat successfully? Just getting some ideas..

NO NO NO Trade it before you do that . Very difficult job and you lose some stability in the Boat. I am picking up a open bow this weekend???????? 16 ft S/S 1978 with a 50 Evenrude. Want to trade??? I prefer the closed bow as I would probably use it it the sound. Im serious!!!!

I have 4 photos of the boat. I have not, yet to see it. It needs painted but that is no big deal. The rest looks useable, told the floor and transom look good but have to see for myself. I will try to Privite Mail to you the photos and then you think about it. I will be thru Tacoma and Seattle next weekend and can call, as iI get close on the way home and meet at a easy place for you to look for your self. I may go google at what I find or start looking for replacment things. I However think it looks ok from what I can see. I was not hesitant to plunk down $ 800 for the boat but if a trade worked out I would ( Mabey )agree to do a straight across trade.

After further discussing it with Pugetosund, I am going to keep the boat I have now. Main reason, it is better for me keeping the kids (3,5,7) confined to a smaller area, Also, the closed bow creates shelter if needed.

Now comes the plan to "fix" her up. What is the best way to deal with aluminum oxidation? Here is a picture of what is all over my boat. Is the best way to sand it down and repaint? Thanks for letting me know.

this is what it looks like all over my boat, all the white marks are raised up as well.

Here is a picture of the seats that I put in as the original ones were shot. I am going to redo everything within the next year, but I like the color.
