Re: change mariner magnum 150 to pre mix oil
How do I keep this thread on main page so can be seen by someone who can help with this valve?
Patience grasshopper. This is a bulletin board, not a telephone call.
I suspect you have a very simple problem with the oil system. However, you have not given us enough information to psyche it out for you.]
Does oil accumilate when the engine is off?
Is there pressure in the boat tank after engine has been off for 10 minutes?
Is the oil pump linkage adjusted properly?
Is oil leaking from the engine reservoir cap?
Is oil leaking from the open ended hose T'd into the boat tank line?
You get the idea.
If you do decide to take the oil system off, then you can be bothered with proper fuel/oil mixing every time you fill the gas tank. Can't let the teenage nephew fill it either. Also, use the proper block off parts or you could have your engine trying to digest the oil pump shaft end bushing that stays in the engine.
Oh, by the way, the bleeder/check valve is the fitting low on the engine, forward starboard side that the pressure line for the boat oil tank is on. Depending on answers to questions above, it could be the culprit.
hope it helps
