Boat 9 will clean most anything. Acetone if its indellible. In either case wax afterwards.

Waterless hand cleaner works wonders also on the hull of a boat. I also use it on carpet and upholstery stains.

Re: brown stains help!!!

Any of the boat hull cleaners will get it off instantly. Just wipe it on with a paper towel, then rinse it off and the hull will look like new.

I second StarBrite Hull Cleaner. Use gloves because it a potent acid. Let it sit a minute and hose it off. Wax afterward.

And don't do it like I did...in a stiff breeze  MY EYES!!!

Or, just stay upwind

I use Attwood hull cleaner. It works as well as anything else and it's biodegradable.

I use a garden sprayer and dilute the cleaner to about a 1/4 of a bottle of cleaner to a 1/2 gallon of water. Takes less than 15 minutes from finish to end.

The stuff will spot a galvanized trailer so hose the trailer down with water before starting.

Pump the sprayer up and go at it. It doesn't take much. I used less than 1/2 gallon of mixture to do the bottom of a 22' boat. No scrubbing required. The stains just disappear. By the time you get to the back of the boat the front of the boat will already be clean. Just rinse with water and your done. When your done make sure you hose the trailer down real well to get all the cleaner off of it.

I've used various things,

"Super bowl" which is a high strength toilet cleaner, acid based.

Cif,

Barkeepers friend, which is a powder you mix,

and,

Starbright.

Prefer to try things that don't come at "marine store" prices.

Soft Scrub and some elbow grease. I just bought a Bayliner and the ENTIRE hull was a dark brown color. Now it looks brand new. (What I could reach anyway)

By the way, this was not a joke on the threads title! :D

It works very well, and costs little. I've even seen it in a dollar store before.

I read about using it here, and it has acid in it, and is basically the same as hull cleaners. ;)

re toilet bowl cleaner--works great. turns a galvanized trailer black so hose it off!

I used it a couple of weeks ago ona boat with 1 year old bottom paint plus some new touch up, no affect on the paint. But today I putit on another boat with 3 year old Micron and it reacted with the paint.

Not all toilet bowl cleaner is created equal... It has to have the ingredient "hydrogen chloride." It'll make her good as white.
