i have this mounted on my bow and found the the directional steering is askew. When the foot pedal is in the center position the boat should move in the forward direction. When my pedal is centered the trolling motor and directional arrow are in the 5-6 oclock position thereby throwing the steering off. Does anyone know how to adjust this? Ive looked at a manual on motorguides website but it doesnt see to address this according to my model. Thanks.

Found this Mototguide fix snooping around,, hope it helps, you might give it a try.

The cable going to the head has a bar that has teeth in it. This sits in a rack guide. It connects to a gear and when you move the foot pedal the bar will go back and forth turning the motor.

Mine jumped the track during a quick high speed turn. I took the top cover off, took the cover to the rack guide off and realigned the movement of the motor by setting dead center then dropping the bar back into the rack guide. The rack guide housing is easy to mess up the screw threads so I took a couple of zip ties after I put the screws in and made sure the top cover of the guide would not pop loose. Does not take much once those threads are wore out to pop the cover enough to have the bar pop out and then you have to start all over again.

Once you have done this it only takes 20 minutes or so to readjust. I have a swingaway tounge with makes this easy to do on the ground. Not sure if you have this or not.
