Hope it's worth it!

grabbing it from swimplatforms.com I'm sure I could do a lot of other things on the boat for 1500 but I really do want one of these..

I've recently shopped around for one of those as well. Came up with basically the same price (delivered). I was surprised at how few options there were out there for them. While I'd really LOVE to get one, my money is going towards a tower right now. Maybe in a year or two:)

For those with more time than money, I wonder how tough (easy?) it would be to hand craft one from glass. I'd like one as well, and have considered crafting one, as my transom isn't exactly standard.

Jeff, if you could take pics of how it mounts and how it was manufactured I'd appreciate it. Maybe I or someone else here can manage to squeak out a how-to and a video by the fall time.

Check here they support iboats! http://www.seadek.com/

requested a quote.

if they can beat it, I still havent set anything in stone, just sent an email saying "lets start the order"

But I dont think these people actually sell the platform.

I too have looked around at these as well as DIY types. One thing I notice is that few seem to accommodate a ladder. Even with the deck at the water's surface, there may be some guests that may not be able to boost themselves up due to strength/age. Do people just accept that they won't have a ladder?

The few I was able to find had ladders, they were just listed as options and cost an extra $150-$200. I'd say that's a must have though.

Yeah, I'm not gonna do the tower ever......it is kind of ridiculous how much they cost, but what are ya gonna do

essential equipment in my opinion. esp if you have kids and do lots of beach time.

if you have kids that like jumping off the back of the boat, one of those is quite a bit cheaper than a trip to the ER to get someone stitched back up after they run into the outdrive.

Don't really have kids on the boat yet. One of my good friends is about to have a baby :)
