As I wrote in my response to your similar post on another site, you are really going to enjoy the platform. Good place to dry off before getting back into the boat and adds a great deal of "space" to the boat when on the hook. A good investment IMHO. Enjoy!

if you have kids that like jumping off the back of the boat, one of those is quite a bit cheaper than a trip to the ER to get someone stitched back up after they run into the outdrive.

Absolutely! Like I said "Essential" equipment for a family boat.:D

Hope it's worth it!

grabbing it from swimplatforms.com I'm sure I could do a lot of other things on the boat for 1500 but I really do want one of these..

I did it about a Month Ago for my Glastron and I love it. The good thing is I didn't have to pay for Shipping and got it installed from the Manufacture. They are local to me.

Fish and Swim from the Deck is Awesome that I forgot how much it cost me.

Chatted with the owner. Swimplatforms rocks.

The best investment thus so far.

I really like the way these things look and can see how useful the extra space can be however drilling into the transom scares the daylights out of me.

Yes and that is why I payed the couple hundred bucks to have it installed. I would make my boat look like swiss cheeze.

I don't blame you. I will do most things myself but drilling into fibreglass is one thing I try to avoid at all costs. I hate the sound, smell and most of all the gut wrenching feeling.

swimplatforms is in Phoenix Arizona. Small Shop but they crank out alot of Platforms. When I visited the Shop I felt sick for a few hours because of all the Fiber Glass Epoxy Fumes. The workers must be used to it. If you can visit the shop and check out the operation but be careful taking in the fumes.

Don't really have kids on the boat yet. One of my good friends is about to have a baby :)[/QUOT

Babies are pretty light. You can usually just throw them out past the prop... :D

Yeah I don't have the extra cash to have it installed. I'm hoping I don't screw it up!

great looking platform, you're going to love it.

Our 21 footer came with a 32" by 80" platform which gives the boat a huge amount of additional space.

Cheers.

Take your time and you will be fine I'm sure. You can always patch the mistakes with Gum. Get a helper to hold the Platform in place.

I also didn't have the time or desire to take on the Project. I just shelled out the $$.

Re: Breaking out 1500 bucks for a swim platform...

Ok, well.

I managed to drill through a ground line.......no big deal, easily fixed.

2nd road block...... the supplied bolts (19) are not long enough...sigh, ok off to home depot.

3rd goof up.... instructions said to start drilling six to six and ahalf inches in from the sides of the swim platform.

For some reason on my specific boat, that puts the hole inside part of the boat I can't get to, but only on one side. I drouble checked the measurements, it's dead on 6 1/2 inches.

So now I guess I'll have a random Stainless steel screw screwed into the boat.

Re: Breaking out 1500 bucks for a swim platform...

went to HD, bought longer bolts.....still not long enough for the braces on the immediate sides of the out drive.

I guess this is something for future people to realize before they get down and dirty.

As far as my project.

On hold till tomorrow after work, no way I'm hitting the road again today. Having a frosty beverage to celebrate relaxing.

Looks great, I have been looking for a platform for some time, looks like I now know how to get one, I have already requested a quote. Once I get the platform I can get some nauticus trim tabs(my ladder is in the way now). It will be nice to put the wakeboard on on the platform instead of rolling around in the water trying to get it on.

Just make sure to realize that the bolts you get might not actually work with your boat. I stopped at home depot today and bought even longer ones.....if these don't work then I dont know what I'm gonna do.
