Your motor was built by Eska. Certified Parts corp may have parts.
You may find part numbers at the Sears site.

Sad isn't it? ;) but look on the bright side it probably has Solid State ignition.

No, it has points. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to check if any of the ignition parts are bad. Besides replacing all of them. I'm not getting a spark.

Sorry your right it does have points...all though I only guessed at your model no.

as far as spark just take the plug out and ground it to the head, do not crank it unless the plug is grounded,

Could you post your model no.

The model number is 217-58541-0. I have tried that and didn't get a spark. A friend even help the plug in his hand.

As time elapses the metal on the points develop an invisible film that inhibits complete continuity. Polish them vigorously with some worn out 400 or 600 grit wet or dry paper after filing them to remove pitting if necessary.
Reset them to .020" and then pull several strips of card stock or paper bag through them to remove grease or dust. Re-install flywheel and see what you have.

'mrcrabs' noted that you should not ever pull a motor over with a magneto ignition unless it is grounded. The reason being that there are two windings in the coil and if they have nowhere else to go they may well short together. When that happens it's new coil time! You might get away with it for a while with a conventional magneto ignition system but electronic systems are far less tolerant-----and the parts far harder to find and expensive to buy if you do!!!!

I have never had to mess with points how do you check the gap on them. Where should the Cam, Breaker be set at? By the way thanks guys this helping a little bit because I don't know nothing about boat motors.
