I have a used Perko battery selector switch that I plan on installing in my boat. The boat is a 1972 Searay with a Mercruiser I/O. I understand the wiring - it is simple and straightforward.
I have a question about the best location.
I know it needs to be as close to the batteries as practical, but I wonder how important is it to be protected from the "elements."
I am installing the one pictured on the left:
Here's a couple shots of the stern area where it will be installed:
I can easily install it just to the left of the "doghouse" - but then it is exposed to the elements. If I put it underneath, where would you suggest? Especially so I can access it without standing on my head.
