Re: 7 and one half inches!!!
Yuk yuk yuk
Just an update-
My Sprinter van passenger side suspension is toast- whacked into a curb ( I think) that was underwater. Well , it was only 2 feet deep there!

Pullin hard to one side now, and a growling noise....

And I now know for a fact that my van will go through about 3 feet of water- Time to change the fluids!
Mrs. M got stuck somewhere in her 4 Runner that was basically an Island. Garbage cans and debris were smashing into her vehicle, so she was backing out and drove over something, ripping the transfer case bashguard off the undercarriage. She is fine, and the damage to the 4 Runner is minimal. Time to change the fluids on that one too.
My parents house near UWM had 2 feet of sewage in the basement, got that pumped out , boilers might be toast, hot water heaters are done....for now. Going over there again to see if I can get them fired up, there is nobody we can hire to get this done, as all are busy as heck. And they have company coming tomorrow!
Their street had 7 feet of water on it. Lots of abandoned cars there, resting on the neighbors yards.
One neighbors house had a basement wall collapse, anther lost a demising structural wall in the condos across the street.
On the bright side, our neighbor was nice enough to pick up our daughter from school, as we could not get there when they were closing. Turns out lots of people had the same problems getting around. Well, Little M got fed tenderloin on the grill at the neighbors!

And all I got was leftover pizza.
Photo below is just one of many, many intersections that were underwater. This one, in particular, was pretty minor.
National coverage one the Weather Channel, including the Escalade in the sinkhole!
