Got a echo weed eater. Went to crank it the other day and it starts fine and runs fine until it warms up. Then whenever you give it gas it dies and is a pain to restart. Im thinkn i need to clean the carb or maybe change the sparkplug.

Echo makes a good weedeater but 1st off try the plug then after that if it doesn't work see of there are 2 mixture screw adjustments for the low and high one will be for the low end mixture (idle) and the other for when you apply the throttle thats the one that will need to be tweeked to acquire the proper setteing @ high range just small adjustments and remember where you started incase the adjustment doesn't work. Good luck!

Check the air filter first. If that's very clogged, it will be running too rich which is how it sounds to me.

Re: weed eater problems

can you keep it running if you play with the choke at the same time you give throttle? if so, you are starving for fuel. after you replace the plug and clean the filter, check the adjustment screws per fat fanny. turn them clockwise until they stop, count the turns in. then go back out that many turns. start by going 1/4 turn farther out at a time until you get results. if you dont, try going leaner a 1/4 turn at a time, could already be too rich. if this does not solve your problem try a rebuild kit and parts cleaner soak. is there a fuel filter on the end of the fuel line? hope this helps.

Before you do all that take the muffler off and make sure it isn't clogged up.

I learned from my dad who had a lawnmower repair business that carboned exhaust ports will give a weedeater more fits than a messed up carb.

If your was anything like our's, this may help because it took a while to find.
Try checking the bolts that hold the cylinder and body together as ours were loose, but you could not tell as the two halves were stuck together, but it took just a little hole to screw it up.
I found it useing WD-40 around the gasket points, you may want to check around the walboro carb as well.

Went ahead and changed the sparkplug and cleaned the muffler. Runs like a new weedeater. Thanks for the advice.

About cleaning 2 stroke mufflers; we used to plug one end and fill it with a strong solution of baking soda and hot water. Leave it overnight and in the morning dump out all the carbon and oil residue.
