Fuel line 90 degree fitting

Is it ok to use a 90 degree brass compression fitting on the fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb? I was making the last bend in the steel fuel line towards the carb with a tube bender, but the line kinked. I guess the radius of the bender is too small. I'll have to purchase a better bender, more steel fuel line and rebend again.
.....Or, can I just cut the line where it kinked, and install a 90 degree fitting to get to the carb? Would this installation be going against any coast guard regulations? The existing flare compression fittings at the fuel pump and carb have never leaked so I'm hoping another fitting wouldn't do any harm...as long as IT doesn't leak.

There should be flared (double?) connections at carb and pump. Using the same at another point, shouldn't be an issue, but not up on specific CG rules. Others here are. There are CG approved flexible fuel lines that can be purchased.

I would just get a piece of SS braided AN-fuel line and some NPT to AN adapters (elbows, etc for what you need). While the hard lines are a bit cleaner looking, there isn't much benefit to it and the line shouldn't be seeing more than 6-8psi at most anyway on a carb setup. Edelbrock sells fuel pump to carb pre-made kits under the Russel Automotive name I believe.

I would suggest going with either a rubber fuel line - marine A1 type with the appropriate fittings. Or buying a new length of metal fuel / brake line from an auto parts store. Buy it a little longer than you need and you can use a bigger bend radius.

I just used the barbed brass fittings and ran rubber fuel line from my pump to carb, of course I used marine rated fuel line.

Have a great day,

Rob.

On the pressure side I`d use some steel brake line tubing double flared.
