Is it ok to use a 90 degree brass compression fitting on the fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb? I was making the last bend in the steel fuel line towards the carb with a tube bender, but the line kinked. I guess the radius of the bender is too small. I'll have to purchase a better bender, more steel fuel line and rebend again.
.....Or, can I just cut the line where it kinked, and install a 90 degree fitting to get to the carb? Would this installation be going against any coast guard regulations? The existing flare compression fittings at the fuel pump and carb have never leaked so I'm hoping another fitting wouldn't do any harm...as long as IT doesn't leak.
