1.Tighten manual release valve to full clockwise position. Now try to tilt down.
2.Check trim pump fluid level and fill if needed...try Tilt now.
3.check for external leaks in system
4.Check for air in power trim system and bleed if required.

You can also have a child sir on the lower unit and see if the added weight helps. I had to do this when a friends outdrive was stuck in the up position. I stood on it and rode it down. It worked fine after that.

sounds like a bad solenoid you have 2 1 for up and one for down. You can jump it with a screwdriver it will go down. Or put presure on the motor it will slowly go down

More than likely, the "spool" in the lower control valve on the pump is stuck...believe it or not, the "down" cycle on these pumps quite often fail or lack proper operation because of the spool not releasing..

You can always loosen one of the larger trim hose fittings at the pump. Oil will flow out, but motor should go down.

I'm having this same problem. Any tips on how to bleed the lines? First time working on one of these motors

11Renoman made 2 posts over 9yrs ago and hasnt been back since. Not lilely to get or respond to your question.

Start a new topic about your motor woes and ask questions there. Should get lots of help.
