Oildyne power trim pump question

When I got back from last weeks boating I lowered the drive for short term storage and noticed that when AFTER reaching full down position the pump slightly changed sound and had a slight whine to it. This was a split second after the pitch change indicating full down.I checked the oil in the reservoir and noticed it a bit high so I sucked out a little(about 2 ounces) and deposited it into a clear glass. No separation indicating water in oil.Raised and lowered twice as outlined in the manual, then replaced the fill plug with the level even with the full mark.Obviously the manual states not to overfill for a reason, but should I be concerned about pump damage due to being over full by such a small amount? The pump is an oildyne older style indicated by the manual release valve. What do you think on this?Is there anything else I could check.I have no experience with hydrolics.Manual 6.Thank you.

Glad you checked but all of the ones I have used changes pitch when they bottom out or top out. Just the pump running into bypass mode from all the pressure against the stops
