I didn't do the best job labeling some of the wiring on my rebuild of a 1998 Mercruiser 5.7. I've got most of the wires connected on the engine harness except for a few. I haven't had any luck finding them in the diagrams in the manual so I thought I'd see if someone on here could help 1. Black wire terminating near carburetor with a flat spade. 2. Black wire with ring terminal near distributor area (not the one that screws to choke on carb)

black with a spade connector could be for the neg side of the electric choke, ringed connector near dist may be for the dist ground, attaches to the underside if the dist body.

Thanks for the information. You were right on with the distributor wire. I went back and found some of my pictures of disassembly and that ring terminal wire went to one of the screws that holds down the distributor cap.
