Hi all. I'm working on a gem of a project. 1964 Evinrude Yachtwin. Was my Mom's. She bought it new when I was 14. Some bozos borrowed her boat/motor and ran our of gas. And filled up with straight gas. Fried the pistons. So I pulled the plugs and filled the cylinders with Blaster PB. Three days later I tried to turn the flywheel by hand. Nada. Wrapped powerhead with black plastic and left it in the sun to cook. Still no movement. Planning to drain BP blaster out tomorrow and fill with Mystery Marvel Oil. Anybody got any suggestions. Happy boating, Jonathan Smith.

Sorry, if it truly is seized from running on straight gas, no amount of magic potion is going to fix it. The pistons skirts have actually melted from the heat and friction. They aren't going to un-melt and restore to their original state.

not familiar with this engine but can you remove the exhaust cover and inspect the pistons?

If the pistons are scored and galled, but the cylinder walls aren't badly damaged then you may be able to remove the pistons, sand/polish them...put them back in and it might run....maybe....depends on how long the meatballs ran it without oil....hopefully it seized up quickly and shut off....almost certain some permanent damage....

Tear it down to the crankshaft. No amount of magical oils and elixirs will fix what ails it...

you would be much farther ahead to find a replacement powerhead from a reputable source, than to waste time and money on one thats been run without lubrication. jmo

Hello all. Thanks for weighing in, appreciate your honest input. While I'm browsing for a replacement power head, I drained my Blaster PB, which had changed from ORANGE to BLACK sludge. Remove plugs and piston cover and cleaned out 1/2 tsp of sludge from each cylinder. Cylinder walls appear clean and smooth as were pistons. Replaced all and filled cylinders with Marvel Mystery oil. Still looking for replacement power head.

forgot to add, wrapped all back up in black plastic garbage bag and put it back in the sun. if nothing else, I might get spark plug jerky out of all this. lol. thanks again all, happy boating.
