I have a 1986 Bayliner 1950. Original engine was a Volvo 2.3 w/275 outdrive. New engine is a rebuilt 5.7L (installed few years ago). Recently the boat has stalled on more than a few occasion. It has only happened after I have been boating for awhile, shut the boat off to dock or anchor. When I start the boat again and put it in gear, that is when it stalls and will not start for a minute. The engine will not turn over at all. I have not had a chance to check if it is getting power to the starter when this happens. Neutral safety

My apologies, my original post was cut off. Neutral safety switch( within the gear selector?) was bypassed but still have the issue.

Ayuh,.... The power starts at the keyswitch, through the neutral switch, to the slave solenoid, to the starter's solenoid,....

Grab yer tester, 'n follow it through,....
