Just picked up an 89 Bayliner trophy 24', locked up engine 350 chevy 5.7. Any difference between a marine and automotive 5.7 short bock? Got it from guy for free he could not pay storage fees any more. Looking for any info on this thing to get her going. Been 20 years since my last boat.

If it's a truck engine there is no difference besides the brass freeze plugs

Cool info, thanks. Waiting for it to warm above freezing here to do some time on this thing. Charging batteries now to see if everything else will power up. Deal included all radios and trailer. Can't put too much time into it right now, too many other projects going right now. So keeping an eye out for a good deal on a decent engine I can use and get this vessel going gain. Seems to be a really nice craft and might try to talk the wife into letting me keep it, LOL.

89 came with OMC Cobra.
Read the service manual about working on these drives.
The oil needs to be filled in a special way.
Basically a good unit.
They don't make em anymore.
So treat the one you have good.
