My tilt sounds normal going in the up position but going down just doesn't sound right. I did check the fluid and I added some ran it up and down 5 times rechecked it added some more and re-ran it. I have a video clip of the noise which would be easiest for someone to hear it. http://youtu.be/FRoyUT3ndeM

Yes all the pivot points are all greased. It's hydraulic system.

WD-40 on the stainless rams where they go into the seals.
These dry out and lock up the rams making them harder to draw in.

I put some WD-40 on the Rams and still have the noise? I'm wondering if the motor is starting to go out on down position. Any other thoughts?

Ayuh,... The Down-stroke is the low pressure side of the pump, as prop thrust pushes the drive down, more so than the trim pump,....

If ya wanta blow 'bout $300.00 on a pump, Go for it,...... though I doubt ya need one,....

It should be making the same sound going up and down. I just sold my Volvo DP and it sounded same up and down. I would rather not buy a new pump. I would like it to operate correctly. I wonder if there is something in the pump and needs to be drained? I just bought it not long ago. So I don't know the history of it.

Nope,.... Not really,.... When goin' Up, 'n the pump hits it's limit, it crowds the pump, stallin' the motor,....
That's the Hi-pressure side,.....

The low-pressure side, the Down stroke, when it hit's it's limit, or is near it's limit, will unload, 'n whine like yer hearin',....

You can check the fluid for water,... If it's creamy, change it,....

I'd sooner think yer hearin' it start to unload because of,....
A,... the pivots need more grease,....
Or,...
B,.... The glands are gettin' built up crud, causin' the rods to drag in the gland nuts,....

I agree with ya, that the excess screamin' should only be heard when the drive hits Full Down,....

Pardon my ignorance here. So are the pivots the two long rods that attach the Rams to the outdrive? Where are the Glands and Glands nuts? Thank you

Ayuh,.... The glands are where those rods meet the cylinders, where the seals are,.....

The pivots I'm talkin' 'bout are the pins the whole drive pivots on,.... not the ram's anchor pins, fore, nor aft,....
