2013 Mercury 2.5hp conversion to 3.5hp

Hello all. I've heard there is a way to convert a 2.5hp Mercury to a 3.5hp. I've heard a couple things regarding a shorter valve and removing a restrictor from the carb. Does anyone have any input or information regarding this? Thanks!

Ayuh,.... Donno anything 'bout a shorter valve,.... What valve,..??

It could be just the carb, but I'd think there's probably different port timin' to gain the horsepower,....
