If it blinks it could also have gone bad. The transducer in most cases is the type which shoots thru the hull and in most cases is under the engine somewhere

It will be in the bilge with a black cable running out of it.

Oh...Ok no it's on the trailer..... I only had it out once. and I was playing with it. while on the water. didn't know what I was doing. I guess I'm jumping the gun. I have read up on it now. and will take it back out and try to configure it. While on the water it did sound that shallow water alarm. I was playing with it and set it way to high for shallow water....... this should be a good sign. RIGHT ?

Thx again

The sound waves can't travel through the air. You can still set it up on the trailer but you gotta have it in the water to test it. Sounds like it was working when the shallow water alarm went off for ya. Just watch it and see if the readings are reliable. I just put in a new faria tonight to replace a flukie uniden unit.

took it back out, same results... Think I'll replace the gauge and go from there..... kind of weird that the shallow water warning sounds. Played with it. just cant get it to work right. and it wont stop blinking...... Reset it several times..... haven't followed the wire yet. but not really sure where the transducer is and what it looks like. I looked all around the bilge........ Thx

If it's a glue in transducer (shoot through hull) it would most likely be in the bilge under the engine someplace. It could also be a through hull where you drill a hole through the bottom and insert the transducer, or it would be mounted to the back of the transom. It's usually a small black plastic block with a black wire coming out of it. Can you follow the wire from the dash gauge to the transducer? It should be a black sheathed shielded cable from the dash unit to the transducer.
