Just picked up a 1982 lowes jumbo V 14 ft with a 1972 envinrude 6hp fisherman, which looks like new. Not familiar at all with older motors. Looks like to me that there is a line on the throttle handle but it does not line up with any of the gear selections.Just wondering if any one has a pic of the handle .

Not sure what you mean with " does not line up with any gear selections "-----At any rate a motor like that may need a new set of ignition coils if it has not been used for 40 years.----Should also have a new impeller installed.

The lines on the grip never line up with anything, they might when new, but after a year or so they are useless, so ignore them.

That " line " on the throttle was a speed indicator was where you should start, shift and ect. They never were accurate so use your ears instead.

It looks like that tiller handle is set up with a gear at the end. Maybe you can remove the handle and realign it again with the gear to make it point to the proper setting again. :noidea:

I did try that .I took the handle off and the spring pop out and also the little piece of aluminum with all the gear selections also came off.
Thought I put it on right .Screw on the handle only goes on one way.
Still searching to see a picture if it is on right.
Thanks for the advice .I do appreciate it.
I only paid 250.00 for the whole boat and everything in vgc. So just trying to figure it out
