I have a 1983 Johnson 115hp and was given a oower tilt trim setup fot it. I have it all installed but the cable form the battery to the relay box is missing. What gauge wire and fuse size is required? Also where did the mount the relay box? Thank you

I have a 1982 3 liter io the outdrive is stuck in the up position, I thought about replacing the troublesome motor with a u joint a shaft and a crank in front and under the motor cover, and raise and lowering it manually. Has anyone ever done this?

Username1 youi probably have a bad relay, you should start your own thread in the appropriate engine category for your engine, Yamaha, OMC, Mercruiser, etc..

No one has any idea the amp that these units draw or wgar size fuse is used??

Either 7 or 8 amps depending on which brand of drive motor on the trim/tilt unit. That is the no load draw for bench testing the drive motor.. I just had one off a month ago and when I spliced the wires back together I guess they were either 14 or 16 gauge.

Thank you I founs the info, it calls for a 30amp fuse as per Johnson's part book for my engine. I ran a 10guage wire and a 25amp fuse. So far so good. Thanks again.
