Hey Gang..... i have to identify the following remote control (see photos below ) I also could use a few questions answered if possible. I have done a search The remote has 4 wires coming to it, and you are able to trim from two sets of buttons on the top of the handle (one on the right and one the left and both lift and letdown)

I have the bayliner 1990 carpi cuddy 2252 and am looking for the "suplimental" sheet not the owners manual i already have that

I also have the 5.7 mercruiser motor seriel # 0d376336 and would like to find the proper service manual for this. I have found a bunch of them but either they are not in the download location as it does not exist anymore or they were not the right ones. The proper number for the manual would be super

If possible i would also like the service manual for the remote controls.

The remote is in forward and it seems to have been put there while the boat was on rabbit ears. However i read that it will not disengage when on the ears and has no back pressure on the prop. Mine is stuck in forward and works the throttle. However i cannot seem to get it back into neutral. What am i missing here?

Thanks to all who help

This needs to be in the Merc I/O section

Your control should be found here
http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectSerailRange.asp?doc_nbr=Remote+Controls+and+Components

The four wires are your trim and tilt and here is how they are connected
Trim wiring Merc 2012.jpg

Here is the link to parts for your motor
http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selectDocs.asp?doc_nbr=816596

You want manual number 15 for your motor
http://boatinfo.no/lib/mercruiser/manuals/mercruiser15.html#/0

So far as you shifter in forward, have you disconnected the cables at the shift plate?

The controller in the diagram is the mercury commander 3000

I just sold my old one... You maybe able to grab one off e-bay for 100 - 200.00 or maybe cheaper...

Shoot Dodge your right ,,, my bad i did not see the forum i was in....

Thanks for the help....

Are you sure its the 3000, mine has two sets of the " i " button, and i dont have any trailer wires (f) that i can see, and mine is a flush mount.....

I have don almost nothing with my shifter as i am not talented with them and have need of direction before i muck the whole thing up. I did take the cables off the remote to make sure they were not sticking.

i just fixed the trim pump and resavour yesterday (fun). Today i am trying to figure a way to get the old gas out of the tank in a safe reliable fashion (mechanical pump) and remove spark plugs. I bought a cheap 5/8 socket wrench and am grinding it down.

I also have most of the guages fixed and cleaned up...

Man this thing was litteraly a basket cast... i will take some pics if any are interested...

PS should i move the conversation and questions ?

Either ask the question in the Merc forum or PM GA, QC, Bondo, Fun Times and ask to move the thread to the Merc section

You removed the cables and they remain stuck?

If the gas needs to be removed, I would suggest using a marine electric fuel pump.

Asking different questions are fine just try to separate the question so we can follow. Could try a few at a time or start new threads if it will help

I am not sure that is a Mercruiser control. OK it sounds like this is a new to you boat. Muffs (rabbit ears) have nothing to do with shifting. It sounds like someone had the gear housing (lower) off of the outdrive and reassembled it with it in reverse rather than forward. Leave the control where it is and try to turn the prop. If it locks when you rotate it clockwise, then you are indeed in reverse. If it locks when you turn it CCW then it is in forward, and you may have a control or cable problem. Let us know and will tell you how to fix.
