Storage Box 24 Foot Pontoon

I am still trying to set our pontoon up for fishing, I need a good storage box I can lock and is water proof. I have a box like the one in the photo below but don't know if it would be too heavy or not. Our toon is 24 foot and it has a 85 hp Johnson on it. It says the box is 149 pounds empty but I know mine isn't that heavy or I couldn't load it by myself. Would it be best for me to just build one on the light side. Any thoughts on this.

Just had a thought, is there a reason I couldn't hang a couple of long narrow boxes on the outside of the rails?

Jobox's are too heavy. Suggest lockable fiberglass dock box or fiberglass truck bed tool box

Here's another thought. Imagine yourself docking with something like that hanging over the side of the boat. What is it that you are storing/securing?

its a self-clearing interference when they hit the pylons and rip loose from the boat.

'Prolly hard on the toon railing as well! Most made from alum. so soft it's pretty easily damaged.

I am an old man and loading and unloading the toon is a little tough on these ole bones, if I can store tools, life jackets and tackle etc that would make life easier.

I have an old Roughneck box about 3 x 2 x 2 feet, I think it was made by Tupperware, I've had it on two or three different boats, it closes tight and dry, and has held up for over 15 years.

Mine is very similar to this one but several generations older. You have to click the 35 gallon link to see the one I have. The bigger ones would work on a pontoon too.

My buddy has a built in bench he made 20 years ago that keeps pfd's, flares, cooler, fishing rods and tackle box. Its upholstered on top, made of 3/8" marine ply. Top is hinged on a stainless piano hinge.

Its 8' wide. Could be an option
