If you got water in the pan, you have bigger problems than how to drain your oil.

I tried the pump thing, bought a very nice model but you MUST do what the instructions say and warm that oil up, if it's too thick it just spins......it was a messy job.

That hose looks like an awesome idea.

Currently I have a 1 gallon prestone jug, I pull the plug, let it fill, put the plug in, drain the prestone jug and do it one more time.......it's ugly too but not near as messy as I thought it would be........

Can't tell from the pic. Is there a valve on the fitting that connects to the pan?

No valve on the fitting that connects to the pan. You simply snake the screw capped hose out the transom plug hole and then unscrew the hose cap while you hold the hose higher than the oil pan so the oil does not come out while taking the cap off. Once the cap is off, you put the hose into a container, lower the container to ground level and the oil starts to drain. When I think it's all drained, I blow gently into the hose to see if any oil is left in the pan...if so, I suck gently in an attempt to siphon off what little is left and then place hose back into another container to see if any more oil comes up..I usually get a couple more tablespoons after doing that.

I have used a less expensive but similar approach to the oil drain hose. Cut out the side of an antifreeze jug and tape an old length of garden hose into mouth of jug. Place cut out jug under drain hole and feed garden hose out boat's drain. When oil drains into jug it can run out of boat into other container. Works really well if engine is run a little while and oil is warm. Price is right!!!

Just get the best suction pump you can find, if you are patient and take your time you can get just about all the oil out, at least close enough that it will not matter in the long run. If I were starting with a new engine I might consider the drain hose, but I still would be concerned about fittings/hoses leaking in an inaccessible part of the bilge.
