I was wondering if anyone has anyone has much info on Sangstercraft boats? I traded a gokart for this 15'6" Sangstercraft with a 1971 80hp Merc, but im not sure what year it is. The S.N. I believe is DOT11428 and there is a number on the top of the transom that is 150147103. I have heard that the year is somewhere in that number which makes me believe it is a 1971, but im not 100% sure. On the front port side there is a glovebox that says Sangstercraft Vernon, BC., however I believe the boat was originally sold in Delta, BC at a Chrysler Marine (which no longer exists) at 3473 River Road. If anyone has any information on this (even the slightest bit) that'd be great. Thanks guys!

I had that same boat/motor combo, mine was a 1973 boat on a 1974 Roadrunner trailer with a 1981 Merc 80 outboard. The year should be the last 2 didgets of the HIN, it is located on the starboard side of the transom. These are very well built boats, they were built somewhere in the Vancouver area, the company folded around 1982 or 3. BTW I believe they are only rated for 65 HP but they sure work well with an 80. Hope you have fun with it

Yeah the boat is only rated for 75hp but the thing sure goes like hell with 80hp! The HIN is 150147103, so it definitely wouldn't be an 03, but the number contains a 71 so I would assume it's a 1971- see pics. It is an incredibly well built boat as the transom is still solid and all fibreglass is solid and strong. I'm incredibly happy with this boat, which is kinda why I'd like more info on it :)
