Ya, it seems a shame not to use that space. I added flotation forward of the "floor" into the nosecone which looked like a poor storage area anyway, then added a roll-out bin (a heavy duty milk crate) for my anchor line, but could have used a double long crate that might be more useful to you. I also added a drawer between the glove compartment and the aluminum step for charts that I suppose could be used for some tackle. Again, my drawer is short of what you could build in that space. - Grandad

Nice to see your post. Hope you're enjoying life well and health outlook is good too.
Was looking up your thread since I got a box of rivets from The Brown Truck yesterday and wanted to think about the "end result" for a minute and not all the work! The roll outs are a great unobtrusive use of otherwise inconvenient space. Thanks again for that great thread.
As far as fishing storage, I'm going to incorporate light plywood 'drawers' into mine on full extension slides. This gives a lot of horizontal storage that's easily accessible without closing off the whole area or bothering the floor. Plano 3600 boxes on their back edge are only about 5 inches and a RV push button latch can keep the drawer shut on the road and on the water.
The anchor rolling milk crate idea is brilliant, too!
Hope that gets some ideas going for you.
